Professional Development Scholarship Fund



NUNS offer members’ financial assistance with education/conference costs to advance urological nursing knowledge and skills. 

 Scholarships are available for the 2017 Australian & New Zealand Urological Nurses Society Inc. (ANZUNS) Conference to be held in Canberra ACT.

(Conditions apply) 

NUNS Scholarships are valued at $1,000 each

Criteria for Application:

  • Applicants must have been a NUNS financial member continuous for 24 months and have not received any NUNS scholarship funding for the previous 24 months.
  • Registered and Enrolled nurses with current Australian Nurses registration and practicing in NSW.
  • Nurses involved in the care of Urological patients at least 24 hours a week.
  • Nurses who can show evidence of having attended at least one NUNS Seminar or Conference in the past 36 months.
  • Nurses who can demonstrate an ongoing commitment to improve urological nursing standards in their workplace.

Documentation required:

All applicants are required to submit the following:

  • Completed and signed NUNS Scholarship application form
  • Copy of current authority to practice as a nurse
  • Brief Curriculum Vitae including one professional referee
  • A written letter addressing the criteria for application
  • Evidence of NUNS education events attended in the past 48 months.
  • Outline of how the knowledge gained at this Conference will be disseminated to colleagues

Conditions of NUNS Scholarship:

  • Application for sponsorship from other sources does not exclude you from applying for a NUNS scholarship but it must be disclosed or the applicant risks non-payment of funds.
  • The NUNS Committee will assess scholarship applications, with the decision regarding scholarship awards being final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • The successful applicants will be notified by email and/or phone call before the deadline for ANZUNS conference early bird registration.
  • The successful applicants must use the scholarship to attend the 2017 ANZUNS conference to be held in Canberra ACT  from 24th to 27th February 2017. 
  • The successful applicants MUST submit a written report of 1000 words (on their allocated educational component of the conference) within four weeks of attending the ANZUNS conference for publication in the NUNS newsletter.
  • The successful applicants are responsible for the timely submission of the conference report. If the report is not received by 30th March 2017, the allocated scholarship will automatically become invalid. 
  • Funding will not be provided until NUNS Executive Committee has accepted the report for publication. 
  • Successful applicants MUST also submit original receipts up to the amount of $1000 scholarship.
  • Successful applicants who withdraw from the conference MUST notify the NUNS Executive Committee within one week of their withdrawal to allow possible reallocation of funds. 
  • Applications should be received by midnight Friday 13th January 2017
  • The successful applicants will be notified by email before early bird registration deadline for the ANZUNS conference, notification will be the  20th January 2017.
